Physiological Diagram, c. 1985-86
Andy Warhol studied at the Carnegie Institute of Technology from 1945 to 1949, before moving to New York to work in advertising. He began exhibiting his work in the 1950s and in 1952 had his first solo exhibition at the Hugo Gallery in New York. Numerous major retrospectives of his work have taken place worldwide. Important public collections include The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York; Guggenheim Museum, New York; and Tate, London. The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts was formed in 1987 and two museums, in Slovakia and Pittsburgh, are dedicated to his work.

6 - 10 May 2022Ben Brown Fine Arts is excited to participate in eighth edition of TEFAF New York at the Park Avenue Armory, from May 6 to 10, 2022. We will be presenting a curated booth with a selection of superlative paintings, and sculptures by leading 20th and 21st century artists including Frank Auerbach, Miquel Barceló, Alighiero Boetti, John Chamberlain, Lucio Fontana, Willem De Kooning, Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne, Gerhard Richter, Ed Ruscha, Andy Warhol and Tom Wesselmann. Highlights of the booth will include Andy Warhol's Portrait of Jon Gould, a work from Tom Wesselmann's famous Bedroom Painting series, as well as Untitled (Woman) by Willem de Kooning.
