Preview: 5-6 October 2020
Ben Brown Fine Arts, London and Hong Kong, is pleased to participate in Photo London 2020, in its first digital iteration of the fair, from 7-18 October. We have brought together a selection of superlative photographic works from our gallery artists and inventory, that demonstrate traditional and avant-garde techniques and range from the literal to conceptual. Included in the presentation are the grand, meticulously-composed interiors of legendary Dusseldorf School photographer Candida Höfer; iconic imagery ingeniously composed of puzzle pieces, pigment and shards of magazines by Vik Muniz; sublime time-lapse seascapes and theatres by Hiroshi Sugimoto; a captivating Museum Photograph by Thomas Struth; provocative, staged photographs by Nobuyoshi Araki; and two impactful, charged works by Shirin Neshat subtly tackling gender roles. The presentation also includes new works by gallery artists Awol Erizku and Hank Willis Thomas, who are currently exhibiting at the FLAG Art Foundation in New York and Ben Brown Fine Arts gallery in Hong Kong, respectively. We look forward to interacting with you virtually during this fair, and sharing the diverse and innovative practices in photography of this select group of artists.
