Ben Brown Fine Arts is delighted to announce its return to The Armory Show, taking place from 5-8 September at the Javits Center, New York (booth 232). Our booth will present a thoughtfully curated selection of works by acclaimed contemporary artists, including Tony Bevan, Yoan Capote, Awol Erizku, Candida Höfer, Vik Muniz, Nabil Nahas, José Parlá, Enoc Perez, Ena Swansea, Hank Willis Thomas, and Gavin Turk.

This dynamic presentation includes paintings, photographs, mixed media works, and sculptures, directly from the artists’ studios, reflecting the innovative and engaging practices of the gallery’s primary market artists. Among the standout pieces, we are proud to present exciting new works by Los Angeles-based multidisciplinary artist Awol Erizku, who’s vibrant and engaging photographic pieces interrogate and intervene in Western art historical narratives and visual culture through rich symbolism and iconography. His work challenges conventional depictions of Black identity, offering a fresh perspective that is both deeply rooted in history and strikingly contemporary. Alongside Erizku, New York-based Cuban artist José Parlá presents his richly layered, vivacious calligraphic paintings that capture the rhythm and energy of urban life. These works blend abstract expressionism with both personal cultural narratives, featuring intricate, textured surfaces that convey the passage of time and the complexity and vicissitudes of human experience. Additionally, we are thrilled to debut new paintings by renowned British artist Gavin Turk, who draws on modern masters to bridge the Surreal aesthetic with his characteristic sardonic undertone. Turk’s pieces challenge traditional notions of authenticity and authorship, engaging viewers with a playful yet thought-provoking commentary on the art world itself.

Our booth will explore the breadth and depth of contemporary art, reflecting the artists’ talent in pushing the boundaries of creative expression.
