Works by two of Britain's leading figurative painters, Frank Auerbach and Tony Bevan, are on display at Ben Brown Fine Arts, exploring both artists' fascination with the human head and what it represents. In Auerbach's works, the buried image emerges slowly through layers of paint and smeared strokes; while Bevan's depictions show the sinews and structure of the head, which exhibition curator - art critic Michael Peppiatt - describes as the "prime vessel of human life, the nerve centre and brain box that controls us and everything we do..."
