康迪達•赫弗在 Schmölz-Huth Studio 受訓後，她於1976 年開始跟甚有影響力的攝影二人組貝恩德·貝歇爾和希拉·貝歇爾學習。貝歇爾二人組的門下子弟包括數位出自杜塞爾多夫藝術學院的有名攝影師，包括安德里亞．古斯基 （Andreas Gursky）、托馬斯．施特魯特 （Thomas Struth）、阿克塞爾．赫特 （Axel Hütte）和托馬斯．魯夫 （Thomas Ruff）。赫弗的照片都會經過長時間曝光和只使用自然光線，並不會用後期加工。因此，她的作品呈現出一種罕見的親切感。赫弗的作品刻意刪除人類的足跡，喚起一種豐富人文歷史和缺乏人類氣息的強烈對比。赫弗的作品曾出現在巴塞爾和伯爾尼藝術館、 巴黎盧浮宮和都柏林愛爾蘭現代藝術博物館。赫弗曾在第50屆威尼斯雙年展(2003)代表德國, 並參與了Documenta 11 (2002)。她的作品被世界各地重要的博物館收藏包括倫敦泰特藝術館、巴黎蓬皮杜藝術中心、 馬德里國立博物館雷納索非亞藝術中心、 埃森弗柯望博物館、漢堡藝術館和紐約現代藝術館 (MoMA)。
